The Meaning of the Law of Polarity
There is a law which affects human life called the law of polarity. Through the actions of this law we experience the positive and the negative. The actions of this law cause us to experience indecision or to go from success to failure. We tell ourselves, “don’t do this, don’t do that.” only to end up doing it. This law causes us to go from noticing good to noticing evil and from going from happiness to sadness. The good news is that it can also help us go from sadness to happiness.
A key to working with this law (and overcome it we must) is to begin to be aware of it, especially as it relates to mental states. Awareness of the law of polarity leads to awareness of the law of rhythm or the movement between the poles of polarity. Rhythm can potentially imply progress. If we maximize our our use of the positive and minimize the effect of the negative by the time the cycle is complete we will have gained a bit of ground rather then reverted back to zero.
We must always keep in mind when times are tough and we are experiencing the negative that even though the experience seems to be negative, ultimately we determine and define The Meaning of that experience. We have immense flexibility in deciding what a situation actually means to us and to our life. A loved one dies – it could mean to us that we have nobody left who loves us and we are hopeless without them, or we could decide that it means that they have transitioned to a higher and more pleasant realm of existence where there is less limitation and more joy and that some day we too will be able to join them there. The choice; the meaning, is yours to decide.
